Prof. N.V.G.A. Hemantha Kumara is a scholar with over 28 years experience in the University sector. His teaching and areas of expertise are globalization studies, Sociology of gender and Counseling theories. Prof. Hemantha Kumara started his life in Sociology as an undergraduate student at the University of Colombo and University of Ruhuna. He was the Head of the Department of Sociology for three years (2017- 2020). He also worked as the Chairperson of the 5th Ruhuna University International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences. He has already authored 18 books in the field of Sociology. Also, he has published nearly 28 research articles in refereed journals. Currently, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Prathimana e-journal of the Department of Sociology, University of Ruhuna.
